Student Opportunities

Popular, Halloween, and Holiday Musicales
These recitals are an opportunity for students to perform more casual literature, like pop, Christmas, and Broadway. Students may dress up in fun costumes for the Halloween recital.

Classical Music Musicales
Several times a year, we provide a venue for students to perform classical music in front of their peers. Students may perform as soloists, or duet, or ensemble if they prefer.

Senior Showcase
Graduating seniors are honored in this event, often with refreshments and special certificates. Seniors may perform either classical or popular music, while other students will only perform classical literature.

Sonatina/Sonata Festival
Students have the opportunity to be evaluated on their performance of a movement from any Sonata or Sonatina. Trophies are awarded for students receiving top scores.

Certificate of Merit and State Honors Recital
The Certificate of Merit program is a holistic state-wide online music program that evaluates students on technique, aural skills, music theory, repertoire, and sight reading.  Students who receive State Honors are invited to have one of their videos in the virtual Branch State Honors Recital.

Spring Evaluations
The purpose of this event is to provide students at all levels with the opportunity and experience of preparing and performing for adjudication. While our judge is highly qualified; these auditions are friendly and positive so that even the youngest may participate. Each student will receive a written evaluation and either a Gold, Silver, or Bronze Medal. The student performance will be one on one with the adjudicator and parents will not be allowed in the room.

Inland Empire Piano Festival
The competition is open to students ages 7 to 18 years old who are students in Temecula Valley, Riverside and Redlands branches. A different musical era and style is featured each year.  Division auditions are divided into solo, duet and concerto categories.

John Shaw Memorial Scholarship
This is open to students in need. Please visit the Scholarship page on this site for more information.
